"Beachbuoy" - Southern Water's release reporting pilot scheme

Southern Water has developed an in-house release reporting system which will upload release notifications for Langstone and Chichester Harbours to the company's website. It is called Beachbuoy and is now live.

This system is intended to replace the current setup where Langstone Harbour Board and Chichester Harbour Conservancy upload release notification to their websites. Southern Water wanted to pilot this new system before a much wider roll-out to bathing waters in our region and chose the Langstone and Chichester Harbours as priority areas for the trial. This new reporting system is called Beachbuoy and is a voluntary service that Southern Water is choosing to provide in recognition of the amenity value of the harbours as recreational waters. It aims to provide harbour users with up-to-date information about releases so they can make an informed decision about whether or not to go into the water. The new system will allow people to sign up for real-time notifications via e-mail from the Southern Water website at:
